Examination System
LKG & UKG
There is no formal examination for LKG & UKG. The assessment of learning outcome is made through a Term basis continuous evaluation system. The evaluation includes the month long continuous assessment & tests held during regular class hours. Parents are apprised of their wards’ development on the Parent – Teacher Meeting Day.
EXAMINATION & EVALUATION SYSTEM
As per the recent directives of CBSE, CCE pattern has been replaced with remodeled assessment w.e.f. academic session 2017-18. As per the new pattern the academic year is divided into two terms: Term-1 is from April to September and Term-2 is from October to March. The child’s learning outcome is evaluated through Uniform Assessment based on CBSE guidelines.
The Evaluation refers to Scholastic (Subject specific) and Co-Scholastic (Life skills, attitudes & values and other co-curricular activities) assessments.
Scholastic Evaluation consists of Periodic Assessment (PA) and Term End Examination.
Periodic Assessments: comprise of Periodic Test, Notebook Submission & Subject Enrichment).
· There is one periodic test in each term for Class-I to VIII
· There are three periodic tests in an academic session for Class-IX & X
Half yearly Exam. & Annual Exam. :
· There is Half Yearly Exam. at the end of 1st Term and Annual Exam. at the end of 2nd Term for Class-I to VIII.
· There is only Annual Exam. at the end of the academic session for Class-IX.
· There is a Pre-Board Exam. before the commencement of the Board Exam. for Class-X.
Co-Scholastic Assessment is based on continuous evaluation of subjects like Value Education, Art & Craft, Work Experience and Games. The assessments are in the form of Grading Scale.
Class XI & XII
· There are two Examinations in first term (i.e. Unit Test1 and Half Yearly).
· Similarly Unit Test2 & Annual Examination are conducted in the second term.
· There is a Pre-Board Exam. before the commencement of the Board Exam. for Class-XII.

(i) Periodic Test (10 marks) :
There are three periodic written tests in the entire academic year and the average of the best two will be taken. The school has the autonomy to make its own schedule and remedial measures. However, for the purpose of gradient learning, three tests may be held as one being the midterm test and the other two being premid and post midterm with portion of syllabus cumulatively covered. The gradually increasing portion of contents would prepare students to acquire confidence for appearing in the Board examination with 100% syllabus. The school will take the average of the best two tests for final marks submission.
(i) Notebook Submission (5 marks) :
Notebook submission as a part of internal assessment is aimed at enhancing seriousness of students towards preparing notes for the topics being taught in the classroom as well as assignments. This also addresses the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.
(ii) Subject Enrichment Activities (5 marks) :
These are subject specific application activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development. These activities are to be recorded internally by respective subject teachers.
For Languages : Activities conducted for subject enrichment in languages should aim at equipping the learner to develop effective speaking and listening skills.
For Mathematics : The listed laboratory activities and projects as directed by the Board to be followed.
For Science : The listed practical works / activities will be carried out as prescribed by the Board in the curriculum.
For Social Science : Map and project work may be undertaken as prescribed by the Board in the curriculum.

Number of tests to be conducted in each term for each subject in :
(A) Class VI-VIII |
One Periodic Test and Half Yearly Exam. in Term-I, one Periodic Test and Yearly Examination in Term-II will be conducted in an academic session.The whole syllabus of the First term will be asked in Half-Yearly exam. and whole syllabus will be asked in the Yearly examination. |
(B) Class IX and X |
For Class IX and X,three Periodic Tests and Annual examination will be conducted in an academic session. 100% syllabus is to be covered for Annual exam.(IX) / Board examination(X). |
CLASS XI & XII:
There are Unit Tests and Terminal/Pre-Board/Annual Examinations as per the calendar.
Weightage Distribution for the Overall Assessment:
10% of UT1 + 10% of UT2 + 40% of T1 + 40% of Ann. Exam = 100%(XI)
10% of UT1 + 30% of T1 + 30% of T2 + 30% of Pre-Board = 100%(XII)
Rules Regarding Absence from Examination:
1. If a student fails to appear either theory or practical examination the marks secured will be reflected accordingly in the report card.
2. Absence from theory and practical examination in any subject will be reflected as ‘AB’ in the report card.
